About Hertfordshire Branch

The branch covers the large county of Hertfordshire.  Members come from primary schools, nursery schools, children’s centres and voluntary settings.

Meetings are held in schools across the county and begin at 4.30pm until about 6pm. Refreshments are served and attendees are given the opportunity to look around the setting at the end of the session.

We meet three times a year, usually in the middle of the term.  We endeavour to provide a range of speakers linked to national or local policy in response to members’ needs.  One of the speakers will usually be a local colleague with a particular specialist knowledge.

Our plans for the year include:

10th November 2016 - Creative Minds – Curious Thinkers with Lucky Khera & Rose Blair

9th March 2017 - Early Childhood and Neuroscience: Theory, Research and Implications for Practice - with Mine Conkbayir

18th May 2017 - "Sit still and stop being silly": early physical and sensory development of the child - with Jasmine Pasch

Our past events include:

22nd October 2015 – EYPP Workshop - How to use your Early Years Pupil Premium money; practical ideas from local settings with Bernie Jackson and Karen James

10th March 2016 – Mark making with Rose White

12th May 2016 – AGM

23rd June 2016 - Sustained Shared Thinking and Children’s Voice with Tracey Dawson
