Learning Volunteer Coordinator, Rowland Hill Nursery School and Children’s Centre

Job start: March 2022

Salary Grade: SO1 £30,585 – £31,557 annual salary (Pro-rata £14,439 – £14,898)  

Contract term: Fixed term: March –February 28th 2023. Part Time 18 hours per week

Hours: Part time flexible working.

About this role

We are looking for a dynamic, motivated and outward looking professional to play a key role in connecting parents and carers in our local community to learning, volunteering and engagement opportunities. The successful post holder will be based at Rowland Hill Nursery School and Children’s Centre but will be expected to undertake outreach in the local area, parenting programmes, family groups including stay and plays to reach families who may not already be accessing services.

The role entails working with adult learning providers, community and voluntary sector organisation and private enterprises to ensure local parents and carers are connected into clear pathways to learning and employment. You will support adults with developing their confidence and skills and preparing for work.

About you

You are a dynamic worker with experience of delivering training, supporting volunteering and working in a community development capacity. You will have a sound understanding of barriers experienced by diverse and disadvantaged communities in accessing learning and employment. You will be a connector, able to work across professional boundaries linking people and opportunities. You will be abreast of local and national policies and initiatives in the adult learning, volunteering and employability field.

It is paramount that you are fully conversant with the principles and good practice of partnership working at various levels. You will also have demonstrable experience of supporting adults with families into successfully achieving their goals.
