Early Education Associate
Rose has worked in education for 28 years. She is currently working in Initial Teacher Education as a Senior Lecturer. She has taught in Primary and Early Years Education for over 27 years, as a class teacher and as a Senior Consultant for a Local Authority, supporting qualified teachers' practice in English, the Early Years Foundation Stage and Ethnic Minority Achievement. Her key areas of interest are Language and Literacy (particularly Early Literacy), parental partnerships, Creativity, Well-being, Transition between Reception and Year 1 classes and EAL. She has presented at Teacher Education Advancement Network conferences in 2010, 2011 and 2012 and has run workshops at numerous conferences, most recently in Peterborough. She has written teacher guidance on Assessing Young Children with EAL, Equality and Diversity, Reading for Pleasure and Transition between Reception and Year 1 classes. She has also written teacher notes for BBC Educational Radio programmes.
