Sara has worked in Early Years throughout her career, initially as a teacher in nursery and reception classes. She has worked as an Early Years Adviser for the local authority, leading a district team, developing and delivering training on a number of national initiatives as well as working with settings to provide support and guidance. She has also worked as Project Coordinator for Policy and Development for the local Authority, developing and supporting childcare on school site, consulting on the viability of new settings and establishing nursery classes and foundation stage classes.
She is now head teacher of an outstanding Maintained Nursery School and company director of Oaklands Childcare Ltd.
She became a National Leader of Education in 2014 and has worked both independently and with local Teaching Schools to provide training and support for schools and PVI settings. She has also worked on a DfE funded project with BTSA in Stoke to raise standards in Early Years settings in PVIs and school settings primarily in Mathematics, Communication & Language and Literacy.
She is also a trainer for SENCO Level 3 Award and has moderated EYFSP.
