UK early childhood education policies
The UK devolves responsibility for early childhood education and care to its constituent jurisdictions: England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales, each of which have independent legislatures and ministries responsible for early childhood education and care.
Responsibility for early childhood education and care is generally shared between national and local government, with the national government setting the strategic policy direction and local government responsible for its delivery.
